LG V30 camera to sport F1.6 aperture lens

A report earlier this month suggested that LG's upcoming flagship V30's dual-cameras will be equipped with f/1.6 aperture and Crystal Clear Glass Lens. Now LG has officially confirmed that it will incorporate an F1.6 aperture camera and glass lens in the dual camera of its upcoming V30 flagship.

According to LG, f/1.6 lens is the world's largest aperture and clearest lens ever to be used in a smartphone, and can deliver 25 percent more light to the sensor compared to an f/1.8 lens, for improved low-light camera performance. The glass Crystal Clear Lens will deliver great light-collecting ability and offer better color reproduction, compared to a plastic lens.

LG also boasts that the rear camera module size will be 30 percent smaller, than its predecessor and feature laser detection auto-focus, OIS (optical image stabilization) and EIS (electronic image stabilization). The wide-angle camera lens has also been upgraded to reduce distortion by a third, when compared to its predecessor, wide-angle camera, "making it ideal for group wefies, spacious interiors and expansive landscapes."

A week earlier LG confirmed that the V30 will sport 6-inch (1440 x 2880 pixels) QHD+ OLED FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio and very slim bezels. It will also have a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 for resisting scratches and drops, and support HDR10 and Google's Daydream platform. Also, the signature secondary ticker screen found on V10 and V20, is getting an axe in the V30.

The LG V30 officially unveiling will take later this month on August 31 in Berlin.
