nubia M2 Play with 5.5-inch display, 13MP camera, Android Nougat announced

ZTE sub-brand nubia has announced a new budget smartphone dubbed nubia M2 Play. This is the third member of the M2 line up, the other being the regular M2, and M2 Lite. Design-wise, the nubia M2 Play sports a metal body with double diamond edge-cut frame and 7.9mm thickness, and the front screen is covered with 2.5D glass.

In terms of specifications, the nubia M2 Play comes with 5.5-inch HD TFT display, octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor with Adreno 505 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, and supports expandable storage (up to 128GB) via microSD card.

The camera department is handled by 13MP f/2.2 rear camera with Sony CMOS lens, PDAF and features like Beauty mode (with nine built-in filters), HDR 4.0 and anti-shake functions. For selfies, you get a 5MP f/2.4 camera at the front with 84-degree wide angle lens. The cameras support nubia's NeoVision 6.0, an enhancement suite for photographs consisting of Clone Camera 2.0, Macro Camera 2.0 and DNG Camera 2.0, allowing users to capture sharp and crispier photos with accurate colors even under low-light environments.

The phone runs Android Nougat based nubia UI 5.0 and packs in a 3000mAh battery backed by NeoPower 2.5 for improved battery life management. It also has a fingerprint sensor, embedded into the home button, and DTS surround sound to deliver an enhanced audio experience.

nubia did not reveal the pricing and availability details, but considering the specs, the nubia M2 Play should be more affordable than nubia M2, and M2 Lite. It's worth mentioning that the nubia M2 Play was recently introduced as Archos Diamond Gamma in Europe.
